Title
Through the Looking-Glass and What Alice Found There
Description
Through the Looking Glass is the sequel to Lewis Carroll's popular Alice's Adventures in Wonderland. The book follows Alice as she explores the Looking-Glass World. This copy is a People's edition, published by Macmillan and Co. The publication date of this edition is 1886-7, but this particular copy is probably from a later printing (the publication date on the title page is 1889). This edition includes several notable features, including Carroll's "An Easter Greeting" to every child who loves Alice (written in 1876) and a "specimen page" of the facsimile edition of Alice's Adventures under Ground. The back pages contain advertisements from Macmillan for Carroll's other works. The cover of the book is without a dust cover, but is bound in green cloth. The front cover features John Tenniel's illustration of Alice and Humpty Dumpty with red highlights. We chose these images because they include examples of the text and illustrations, as well as extra content from the author and publisher. This extra content includes a specimen of an Alice facsimile and a note from Carroll to his readers. This extra content is unique to this edition.
